Tactical-technical data on the developed European UAV and the price of the project are not available. However, according to expert media, the aircraft is based on the European Talarion unmanned airplane project, which was canceled in 2012 due to lack of interest from potential customers.
In Berlin, the model of the European Dron has also a twin-engine arrangement, but unlike Talarion, it does not move a pair of jet engines but turbo-propellers. In addition, Eurodron is a Talarion low wing plane with “T” tail surfaces.
Evolution of the Eurodron will undoubtedly also apply to the development of the Italian unmanned aircraft Piaggio P.1HH HammerHead from Leonardo. Also, the Piaggio P.1HH HammerHead, with a maximum starting weight of 6146kg, drives a pair of turbo propellers with pusher propellers. From 2013 onwards, the Dron air tests (the second prototype crashed, the third flying from 2017) and the first deliveries are planned this year for the United Arab Emirates Air Force (eight drones ordered).
